Soooooo Many Books

Woohoo! I finally ready 100 books in a year. Only took me three tries. My last book post took you up to #78. Here's the rest of them.

79. The Host, by Stephenie Meyer--Sci-fi--A little hard to get into, but surprisingly good. I kept getting people mixed up, though, because the descriptions were so vague.

80. Sweetheart, by Chelsea Cain--mystery--Freaky. Twisted. Compelling.

81. Teen Idol, by Meg Cabot--YA--Re-read. This is my favorite book by her, after Airhead. It's about a regular girl whose world is turned upside down when a teen heartthrob blows into town to research his next film role. Don't worry--she doesn't fall for him. She's too smart.

82. Illuminated, by Matt Bronleewe--Christian fiction--High stakes, intense action, not as suspenseful but way more believable than The Da Vinci Code.

83. Bad Monkeys, by Matt Ruff--fiction--Extremely awesome!

84. Jinx, by Meg Cabot--YA--Another fun Cabot re-read.

85. Sense and Sensibility, by Jane Austen--classic--Re-read. I think I've only read it once before. The movie is actually pretty close to the book, except they fudge the ages A LOT.

86. Go With Me, by Castle Freeman, Jr.--fiction--A skinny book from the library. Very interesting and odd.

87. Princess Mia, by Meg Cabot--YA--Second to last installment of the ridiculously long Princess Diaries saga. I'm getting a bit weary of them, but there were some laugh-out-loud funny bits.

88. The River King, by Alice Hoffman--fiction--One of my absolute favorite books ever. Amazing. I try to read it every year.

89. Gothic! Ten Original Dark Tales, by various authors--YA--Not bad. There were two I really, really liked.

90. Prom Nights from Hell, by various authors--YA--Disappointing all around.

91. Mansfield Park, by Jane Austen--classic--Re-read. Jane Austen was my bubble bath reading this year. I read most of this in two nights in the tub. Has Fanny Price, my favorite heroine.

92. Lye Street, by Alan Campbell--fantasy--Picked it up at the library because it was skinny. Dark, violent, and hard to follow.

93. Trunk Music, by Michael Connelly--mystery--Another Harry Bosch mystery that I hadn't read yet.

94. Breaking Dawn, by Stephenie Meyer--YA--Weird all around.

95. The Northwoods Chronicles, by Elizabeth Engstrom--fiction--Wow. That's all I can say. Awesome.

96. Scarpetta, by Patricia Cornwell--mystery--Pretty good. I still haven't forgiven her for killing Benton, even if she did bring him back, but I think I'm getting less bitter with each successive book.

97. Lady Susan, The Watsons, and Sanditon, by Jane Austen--classic--Re-read. I thought I could read all of Jane Austen this year, but I wasn't quite up to reading Emma in a few days because I remember it being kind of boring.

98. Avalon High, by Meg Cabot--YA--Another re-read. High school students who are "reincarnations" of Arthurian legends. Kind of fun.

99. All Seated on the Ground, by Connie Willis--sci-fi--Aliens land in Denver at Christmastime but they don't do anything. They just stand there and glare. Entertaining.

100. The Keepsake, by Tess Gerritsen--mystery--Very good and creepy.
